Getting to know you: Who is the most important person in your life?

Hi. We'd like to know about the people who surround you, and helped make you who you are! Who is the most important person to you?

Of course, if they are not a person, or if you're not a person, we'd still like to meet them.

So, please introduce us. Who is important to you?

My fight with Chaos has defined me.

I don't like Chaos.

Besides, he is a very poor dresser.

I guess my mom and dad.

I also had a teacher last year I really liked. She was pretty. She taught English.

Chaos is your shadow self.

You are so dear.

I want you to know that you also have me..

and I am your very own fairy godmother

the slightly blue silver aura in the room

but usually only visible while you are sleeping

much love,

I guess Brian is most important right now. He's the one I have to keep my secrets from. My parents aren't important and I guess my mates, other goths, are a bit important. Oh, but wait, I know, my great aunt Alexandria! She's really important 'cause I'm heading out to stay with her in San Francisco. I sure hope she's decent. Hope she dies soon too and leaves me all that money. She's really important. So's her solicitor who's arranged everything and is going to meet me off the plane. His name is Mike. I spoke to him on the phone and he sounds nice.
Maybe I'll leave my biggest nose ring behind...

Hi Anon

Cool. A fairy god mother.

Do I get wishes?

Anonymous said...

Yes. Of course you do.

It is part of the program.

much love,

your fairy godmother

I think I have seen him.

Has he been messing with my husband's clothes again?
Tell him to stay out of there.

Okay. I want a girlfriend.

Then I want a cool car.

Then I want a i-pod and a i-phone.

Woah Shadow,

Be very careful what you wish for.

BTW, I can only give you what your *heart* wishes for.

(rubbing hands together)

let's have a go at this:

Look for girlfriend with (you know the description)

in the back of your sock drawer, behind the girly magazines,
there is a half-inch long red cobra from when you were a wee little boy.
It's still a pretty cool car.

The i-pod and the i-phone won't make you as cool as they say it will. You will get distracted and won't finish your homework.

You have to finish your homework so you can go out in the world.

That's where you'll find the girl...

Hope that was helpful. Will be out for the rest of the week. Please leave messages with the other creature (warning: WHO WILL BE COVERING FOR ME) while I am gone.

I left home a few months ago. And it made me realise how inportant my family is to me. You don;t realise until you leave.. And then you miss them so much its almost a physical ache.

But strangely, I think the most important person in my life is Aunty Goody. She taught me magic.

By "person," do you mean "human?" If so, there is no one important in my life. Humans are simply an extraneous species cluttering up the planet. Not that they aren't fun at times, and I certainly want to be famous with them so I can win the bet with the entity you humans would call my ex-boyfriend. But humans simply can't do much for me.

Okay, Nevin just poked me, so I suppose I should say Ricky is important. He's the band manager I hired to make sure we're successful in achieving our goals. But that's a business relationship. Not terribly important.

Bo said...

Business, huh? Then why do you sleep with him, Kalila? Admit it. Ricky is a lot more important to you than you let on.

Kalila said...

Excuse me, everyone. I need to see about destroying my lying sleazeball of a bass player. This weekend's concert should be quite interesting without him.

Get back here, Bo!

First up is my bro Kaelin, who you've met. He's my twin--yeah, identical. No our mother doesn't dress us the same every day. (He dresses hip. I my bedroom floor.)

Then my cousins Jason and Marc. They lurk and they don't know that I know that they lurk. Hi guys! They're mostly nice when they're not being buttheads about protecting me, for instance, not letting me do fun stuff like going to bars and to the mall like normal people! They're about 80 years older than me, give or take. Oh. And they surf.

My parents...well, they're dead. And I probably shouldn't get into the rest of Sentinel. I'd probably be pulled up on treason charges again.

Kaelin said...

Choose your enemies carefully, 'cause they will define you.
Make them interesting 'cause in some ways they will mind you.
They're not there in the beginning but when your story ends.
Gonna last with you longer than your friends

Kaelin said...

that was u2, btw

The most important person in my life right now is probably my employer. (I need money to eat)
Aunt Dee comes a close second, though.
She left me this house when she died - a 150 year old crumbling ruin of a place with a sprawling overgrown garden.
Sometimes I think this house might be becoming the most important person in my life right now. It eats up my wages, demands that I work in its garden, talks to me late into the night (in a morse code-like language of mysterious bangs and thumps)and generally complains.

Hi Fairy Godmother

Uh. Okay.

Thanks I guess

Have been, always will be. Only person you can count on.

I've had mentors. Can only trust them so far. Gotta rely on yourself.

Aidan said...

Way to get all angsty on us, Kae.

He always gets this way out on missions.

But while we're talking enemies, my ancestor Maliquium probably takes the cake. That bastard murdered my parents.

I know you're probably wise to it, but FG reeks of Internet Predator. Just sayin' is all.

Don't worry though. I got your back.

Anonymous said...

Well, I tell you, no good deed goes unpunished.

I quit.

It's not nice to hurt a fairy's feelings.

Aidan said...

Hey, Fairy,

I just thought Shadow seemed a little uncomfortable with the whole thing. I mean, you fairies being invisible and stuff.

Didn't mean to chase you off. I'll play nice, promise.

Troubadour said...

My mother was the most important person in my life. I can't recall much about her, except the feeling of love.

You weren't expecting that form me, were you?

Anonymous said...

Hi Aiden,

Predator? Wow. Thanks. Hope not.

Hope she gives me a car.

I go to a class and met a professor.

He decides I am a genuis.

He is right.

He was a smart man.

He was a good man.

He is dead now.

I miss him.

Maxwell said...

I like my mother too.

She cooks good meals for me.

I scare her with my experiments.

She forgets I am a genius.

Mum did what Mums aren't meant to do - she went out and didn't come back.
Will is like ancient - he should be retired or something.
So that leaves me:
I'm never going to just walk away like my in-name-only - frankly, no better than a sperm donor - Dad did.
Uncle Will, who, I'm sure, will keep-on trying to put up with me, and not croke, - he could be important but, like I said, he's at the 'paper-thin, too many veins' wrinkly skin stage already, so, not much time for hanging around in really.
I'm the only person who is important to me because I'm the only person I can rely on...if I die then I'll be company for me.

Elaine 'still writing' Smith said...

That's Flower for you - hardly up to remembering her own name!

The new important person in MY life is my new proof reader/critic aged 19 - and not related to me!! Don't you just love Writers' Circles!

Wow, you fairy meanies.
Don't you know that fairies are almost always shy.
Ask Shy.I bet she would agree.

Well, fairy godmother is my friend, but she has morphed back to the other side.

Fairies are not good at criticism either.

But some of us ARE good at mischief. You can tell us by our green shimmers.

But those of us who are mischief makers don't grant wishes. That's for old world fairy god mothers. You know the kind with the blueish silver auras. About the size of dragonflies.

But I am definitely the green type.
And I don't come closer to someone wanting a wish than the garden hose, so look out, that would be me squirting you! HA!

I had no idea so many other fairies were here. This is great!

I also want to say that Kalila is very important to me. She's been my friend for several centuries. I know it's a little strange that a fairy is friends with a djinn, but life just works out that way sometimes. We share a common love of music, which is how we met.

Request: Can the author of Scruffy please contact me?

He (or she?) has been selected by Troubadour to be this week's Character of the Week.

p.s. Ghosts like dogs. Who knew?

Mira said...

Just so you know, Trobadour was sort of joking and had a second choice.

But I say: Scruffy is an important part of our community and deserves to have his share of the limelight.
