Not to detract from the great exploration of jealousy, but I have a quick announcment.
I've been so impressed with the quality of writing here. Truly. I wanted to find a way to give people a chance to really shine.
So, I'm trying out something new. This Friday, we will start a new thread called: Character of the Week. They will start the post, and interact with other characters through the day.
Each week, a different character will be featured.
I selected one of the first characters to every appear on this blog to start us off. Who? It will be a surprise! You'll meet them on Friday.
Oh, also, it seems weird for me to always pick them. I may figure some other way in the future. Anyway, it's just an experiment!
Now, please go back to being jealous, if you like.
Thanks!

woof, woof, woof!
wag, wag, wag, wag, wag
Sounds fun. I'm in.
I just know I'm going to be jealous of whoever you pick.
heh, good one Vic.
Lol. I thought of that just as I clicked in right now, Vic.
Weird coincidence.
But I definitely think everyone will get a chance to be the one!
I would say the anticipation is killing me, but I'm already dead.
Sounds fun. But I'd like to take myself out of the running for this week and next cus I'm having exams.
:(
That does sound like a lot of fun. I could use the distraction, as I'm stuck in transit.
And to think, people used to consider a long trip could be measured in hours!
Vic - it's "whomever" you pick.
FYI
Christine aka The Grammar Police
Dear Morphine-Moniza;
In a couple of weeks, I'll be giving exams.(muah-hah-hah!)
But then I have to grade them all.
Bummer.
:(
Christine, it isn't wise to critique a vampire's grammar. Although I try not to kill, it's been known to happen.
You might want to wear turtlenecks for awhile. Just a thought.
Vic, if you actually read books now and then, perhaps this sort of thing wouldn't happen.
Just you wait, Nevin...
Vic, I invented gryphon feathers, remember?
Keep your fangs away from my type O neck, thank you!
But, all kidding aside... this is a writer's blog and all that. Sorry if I offended your author, though.
It's just that the whole "who" and "whom" thing is one of my pet peeves. When I go to Kohl's (a department store) they have these boldly lettered pamphlets for employee recommendations that say "Tell us who to thank."
Drives me absolutely crazy!
Hey Mira, I'm a statistician so if you want me to generate a randomization scheme for picking characters, just let me know!
Authors are a weird, picky subspecies of humans. It would suit me fine to see them all annoyed.
Oh, Vic. Did you wake up on the wrong side of the coffin?
Sorry, everyone. He's always grumpy, but he's usually not this bad. I guess he's still feeling jealous. He probably feels a little picked-on, too. He had no idea that of all the characters here, he'd be the only one singled out for his grammar. People expect a lot from the undead, though, and he would probably do better to get used to it.
Dear Vic,
I see I have upset you.
You should know I hate turtlenecks.
What can I do to make it up to you?
Thanks Christine.
:-)
I appreciate the offer, but I wasn't thinking random...but I don't think I should have all the power.
I was thinking of maybe passing it along. Like this week's Character of the Week would select next week's.
That might be fun.
Of course, the only danger is if someone comes here as 72 different characters, and keeps selecting themselves.
But it might be a risk worth taking.
