Blog Announcement

****Notice****

It looks like there might be ways to continue here. I deeply appreciate the support of the members. A shared partnership is in the works. If you'd like to be a patner, let me know.

Otherwise, business as usual for awhile as the details are worked out!!
===============================================

For anyone who didn't read it, a notice was posted here saying I would need to close the blog due to time constraints. But I'm looking for another solution - partnership! Or even better - a collective.

I'm a terrible person.

You guys have been so supportive, and such good sports.

I'm really sorry.

I really hope someone steps up and takes it on.

It's alot of fun!!!!

NO!!!

Let us know how it's going - if we can help - read even the 'dull' stuff - whatever?!!

I'll miss this.

Cheers
Elaine

Best of luck Mira - I'm amazed you managed to keep it up for so long, with the level of work that must be involved (which I will no way be taking on, by the way)

But . .sniff .. . what will happen to . . .sniff sniff. . .Miss Fettleston . .and Shadow . . and Candy(she's going to America - how are we going to know what happens to her now) and outspoken Fin . . snort . . snuffle . . and sex-obsessed Bo . . .and Goran . . . and me? You can't just leave us Mira, not without a home, not like this . . . snortsnufflewailwipeofsnottynoseonsleeve

I could probably step up, maybe. I'm not what you'd want to be the first choice, though.

Elaine - I know. I'm sorry. I feel like I got everyone involved, and then just dropped it. I suck. I'm sorry.

And I'll miss this, too.

Pure Fiction, I know! I've gotten attached to. With Andre's help, maybe we can work something out.

Andre, you would be perfect!!!! Also, if someone else wants to step up, too, it could be a group or partnership thing.

But if Andre and/or anyone else want to take it over, I'd be happy to take a couple of weeks to make the transition, so it's not abrupt.

I love this community, and I would be soooooo happy if it could continue.

It's pretty easy to add people as posters and admins under Settings. It might be more work than one person could take on, but we could divvy it up.

Seven people, each responsible for one day per week? Posts can be future-dated, too, so if you're the Monday person and you have five great ideas, queue them up and forget about it for a month.

I'm up for one day per week, preferably not Monday or Wednesday, though.

Ann - I would completely be open to that!! I'd love to make this a group project.

I would definitely be willing to keep a day or two, and help people with their days - especially until school starts.

I have prereq classes to take, but enough time to help the site transition in a stable fashion.

Congratulations on getting accepted into grad school, Mira. What will you be studying?

As for the rest of you humans, what's the matter with you? This is a happy occasion for her!

Hey Mira,
Congratulations!
What are you going to study?

This site is great and I will participate if it keeps on.

Really fun and enjoyable!

Thanks for all you've done!

Oh dear,
word verification for Vic:

feede

I wonder if he will step up or is one of those already stepping, his writer?

(seems like a sign)

Thanks for the congratulations!

I'll be studying in my field - Social Work - but it also ties into my writing.

I'm happy about this (although not looking forward to the 15 hour work days), but sad about the blog.

It was fun, but I haven't had much time to post here lately, let alone pull shift as admin.

My Public Query Slushpile blog (http://openquery.blogspot.com) takes a good chunk of free time.

Oh, by the way, Troubadour says bye, and that you are all cool and he'll let you cross over without a fight. Peace out, yo.

Oh no, don't go!!

I can't take on anything else at the moment. I'm too busy with projects and editing at the moment.

Bleh. Aidan will be so sad.

It wouldn't be necessary to have a new discussion each day, would it? Three or four days per week would be adequate to keep it fresh, I think. Each person who agrees to help could specialize: Random Word Day, Random Quote Day, Picture Day, etc.

Mira,

Don't feel guilty...you gotta do what you gotta do!

And of course you're in social work. It fits well with the angst you're emoting over discontinuing the blog. Seriously, like we need another way to avoid editing our projects!

Good luck.

Mira said...

Well, let's see if I can figure out a way to keep this going.

Ann, you had a good point about cutting back on daily posts. That is a great idea and it hadn't occured to me.

Also, it sounds like both you and Andre would be willing to help...

I think we could do it.

Let's keep on for a bit.

Maybe I could talk with you and Andre on e-mail. If anyone else thinks they'd like to help out too, let me know.

oh no don't feel bad! Congrsts about grad school:)

I would love to help out if I can. The group partnership thing sounds manageable.

Also, yes, congrats on Grad School.

SSAT - thanks

MM - that's fantastic!!!!! Thanks.

Congratulations, Mira! You've done a great thing for all us mixed= up beings here and it should go as credits toward a Social career for sure. Don't feel sorry, your future is important; and what wonderful grist for your writing mill!
I do hope we can keep our little community together. Being rather hopeless with computers (as you well know!) I won't offer to help or the whole blog would just blow up like Petunia's boobs, but I sure will support CIC. Send Mrs. Fettleston periodically to report on your progress. I am very fond of her.

Mira said...

Candy - thanks!

I plan to still be involved. I think I could handle it if I was one of a collective.

I'd like to get everyone's e-mail addresses so we can all talk by e-mail. I have Ann's, but not Andre's and MM.

Could you guys e-mail me when you have a moment?

Also, if anyone else is interested, let me know!

Dear Ms. Candy and Ms. Pure Fiction,

Why, I am right here, dears. I have no plans to go anywhere. How lovely of you to think of me.

I so enjoy my young friends. I have had such a grand time chatting with you.

I hope I shall see you at the concert. So exciting!

Sincerely,

Ms. Fettleston
