When I got shot, I lost a lot of blood, but slowed my heart rate and blood flow to stem it until they could get me to hospital. I don't know if it's something humans can do or not.

We heal quickly, but that one took awhile. I still have the scar.

I fell off a roof once. That pretty well sucked.

I was taken to the hospital after I was beaten up. I don't remember what they did to me there, only that when I woke up, everyone thought it was a miracle.

Kalila says I wouldn't have survived the building collapse if she had allowed me to be taken to the hospital. After she healed me, she offered to put the image of what I looked like into my brain. I said no. I've got enough trouble with nightmares as it is.

Hi

I fell off the roof once. I was helping my dad.

I needed to get stitches, but I was okay.

Hi Aidan

I just saw you fell off the roof too. Cool.

Were you helping your dad?

Shadow,
No, I wasn't helping my Dad. It was after he died. I was hunting Simulacrum with my bow and arrows.

Actually, I think Dad might've been helping me. He comes back to visit me sometimes as a ghost. Swore himself to me as a guard, the fool. But it kept him from Maliquium's service, so I guess that's all right.

I broke my arm. No stitches and the arm knitted up pretty quick, just a day or so. Oh. And I knocked myself out but good.

Kalila sounds handy to have around.

Hey, I've got one! We almost died that time Aidan was in a coma, remember Marc? It was about that time I wondered if swearing my life to protect his was really such a good idea...

Marc, you're right Kalila is a big help, but she's also the reason I keep getting into these messes.

So just what are you trying to say, Ricky? I got hurt in the building collapse too, you know. You can be very unappreciative at times, but I suppose that's just your human nature.

Kaelin said...

I bet she's worth it.

Ricky's too much of a gentleman to say it, Kaelin, but the djinn can transmit what she's feeling into his brain when she's in the right mood. Human males don't usually get to experience multiple orgasms.

That's why he stays with her.

Vic said...

Is that what it's about? I thought he was with her for the cash and the car.

Nevin said...

You're both wrong. It's love!

Ricky said...

Okay, I'm back from meeting with the photographer. He said he could work nights and he'll be here tomorrow at eight, and...

What have you guys been saying about me? Stop that!!!

Talk about something else-- medical emergencies or whatever the topic is. I can't leave you guys alone, can I?

Vic said...

Calm down, Ricky, will you?

Okay, medical emergencies. Haven't ever had one. I really appreciate human forethought on that subject, though. The blood bank is great for one-stop shopping.

They took me to hospital when some dude slashed my shoulder in New York. I didn't even notice I was cut tll a cop saw all the blood. They sewed it up and put me in a ward for the night but I snuck out. It left a great scar and taught me to always be on guard, so it was a good thing in the long run. Didn't like the hospital though. Everything too clean and weird smelling.

Hey, Candy, I have so read books, but not about girls so I don't know much about them. Not like Bo who maybe knows way too much.

Kaelin said...

I figured it was something like that, Bo.

Gabby,
I'm not much for scars. I have more than I can count and usually keep them covered up.

Scars don't mean you're tough. Scars mean you got hit.

Sorry, I'm late ! Actually my only experience with emergencies was taking my mother to hospital with her bronchitis attacks. Used to scare me to death. Funny how she only got them when she wasn't getting her way about something.
"Oh, here you are again, Dearie," the swarmy nurse would say. "We'll have you right as rain in no time."
Next day Mum'd come home and we'd have to be specially nice to her and feed her custards.
But I know she was smoking on the sly. Could smell it on her breath.
