If you could be any animal in the world, what animal would you like to be? Would you swim? Would you fly? Would you crawl on the ground and hide in people's shoes? (I know, me too!)
Or maybe there are some unusual animals where you live....or if you're already an animal, what type of human would you be?
Either way, we want to know the dish: If you could choose, what type of animal would you be?
Note: This is an everybody post.

Wonderful life. Seriously under-rated.
Hi.
I'd be an eagle. Be fun to fly.
Shadow
I'd be a human.
Slow Loris - life in slow motion.
Aidan - you sound like you are already - more human than most humans - way more than me.
Why would you want to be a human, Aidan? That's weird.
I know what I would be, but I'm not telling.
That's because you already do it, Kalila. Can I tell?
Afraid your human boyfriend might find out, little djinna?
Uh...is there something I should know, Kalila?
And for the record, I don't know that I'd want to be an animal in this society. Humans often treat them pretty badly.
You humans treat each other badly, so how would it be any different if you were some other kind of animal?
And no, Ricky. There's nothing you need to know.
By the way, Vic would like to be a bat.
I want to be a human so I don't have to hear voices in my head all day. Also, when I got these tattoos I didn't know I was immortal. I might've skipped it.
If I was human, I wouldn't have cousins who would die just because I do. And I would've gotten to maybe have a gallery somewhere or work in restoration. Demons don't make art, or even appreciate it very much. Except for me.
Thanks, Flower. You don't know big a compliment that is.
And you're fine, all right, really. You'll get there.
You could do art for us, Aidan. We'd appreciate it. Maybe you could collaborate with Candy.
I would like to be a bird. It looks like such a lovely sort of life.
Aidan, Candy's thinking of doing an Art show at CIC. Maybe you'd like to show some of your work, too. That would be fun.
I'd like to be a cat in a loving home. I can't think of a better existence.
A cat. Cats generally get a sweet deal down on Earth, I've heard. Up here, you even get lucky every now and then and run into a ship with one.
They don't like freefall, but some get along fine up here, as long as you teach them how to use the toilet.
Personally, I've never really had a pet.
Nevin
Sorry, feeling a bit rude in the not knowing department but can you fly? I bet you can't right? You'd have got away from trouble that time if you could.
A gorilla.
Or a shark.
A killer shark.
I don't make art. I don't know that I could. But I studied art history at Cambridge and was about to enter their restoration lab when my mom disappeared and started this whole mess.
Maybe someday I can go back to it.
I'd love to see yours, though, Candy.
A giraffe. I like to stick my neck into things.
Dolphin
bluebird
swan
gazelle
A dog owned by an adventurous teen age boy who took me everywhere with him. On, and he'd never grow up and leave me. That's what I'd like to be. At one time I would have said a wild horse, until I saw a movie with a herd starving in a snowstorm.
Aidan, learning restoration sounds fabulous. Why don't you go back to it? Did they know you weren't human at Cambridge? You must know a lot! Maybe you'd laugh at my efforts...
Hi Shadow, you'd be a lovely eagle. You could visit me.
If I could be an animal - short-term only - I'd be a kingfisher.
If I could be a non-human something - short-term only - I'd have to go with Sprite (that was my Girl Guide Six - I was sure if I was good at Brownies I'd become one - bless!)
If any change had to be permanent I'll stick and not twist!
A hawk I think...I dunno, I haven't been asked a question like this since elementary school!
Something that doesn't get preyed on very often, that's for sure.
- Brandon
Hi Candy,
I could come over now.
If you wanted to.
Shadow
Hi Brandon Hi Aidan
Shadow
I would be a pixie and live in the mossy roots of an old tree. I'd have magically hidden knothole windows to let the light in, a pebble-lined fireplace and a dirt floor with mats I wove from fresh grasses every summer.
I'd sleep in a bed of soft moss, and eat berries, nuts, birds' eggs and minnows.
I'd spend my time roaming the woods, streams and meadows... and doing magic, of course!
I'd be a mermaid in the ocean. Somewhere warm, like the Caribbean.
Oops, I think I answered the question incorrectly. That's not really an animal.
A dolphin, then!
I did, too.
Okay, I'd be a chipmunk living in the roots of a mossy tree. But one who still had a little house, like in a Beatrix Potter book.
No owls in the treetop, I hope!
(I would really be a pixie in disguise, though.)
I hope none of the cats would find me.
I'd be a black panther in the Mystical wood. I would be slee.k and strong, able to leap effortlessly across streams and up onto the branches of trees where I would stretch out and watch the other animals playing below. Sometimes I might look out at the reformatory and my roar would stop anyone from even thinking of entering the wood and bringing violence to the unicorn and his peaceful world. I would be so happy my purr would hum everyone to sleep at night.
Maybe some of the rest of you would like to visit- but remember-there is only kindness in the Mystical wood. Flower, I'm sure it would change you.
Now I gotta forget such stuff, Soldier's bein' smart ass. .Gotta knock him back in line. Somethin real good to straighten him out. Humiliation he hates. Now what'll I...
Hey Gabby
I don't think I can absorb peace - otherwise Will would have made that happen.
I like the idea that there are magic places that could just make you feel better.
I can feel change inside - it doesn't feel good
I dream of things I can shape-shift into, through pillows that I drop down and into.
