Getting to Know You: Vices

So...do you have vices? Unhealthy habits? Do you drink, smoke, curse, or eat too many cupcakes?

Are there things you sometimes do that you can only explain away by saying, "The Devil made me do it?"

Today, let's talk about our vices, and what we would do differently if we could. Let it all out, and maybe your friends here can help. Or maybe they'll just offer to join in!

I'm not sure why a so-called "vice" would be a problem, but if anyone wants to join me in mine, they're welcome.

Ricky has a vice. He drinks too much whiskey.

Ricky said...

No I don't, Kalila. At least not often.

Aidan said...

Ricky and my cousins should get together and have a drink(s).

Kaelin said...

I smoke. I don't know that it's really a vice in that the smoke can't harm a demon.

Lucy said...

It's a disgusting habit, Kaelin. Your room smells like a bar.

Aidan said...

I don't know. I kind of like it that Kae smokes. It reminds me of Dad.

Jason said...

Kaelin also has a habit similar to Bo's, if not for the same reason. He's quite the player, really, though you'd never know it to look at him.

Kaelin said...

It's my cover, Jason.

Jason said...

Right.

Aidan said...

I have no vices.

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHA

I eat too much ice cream and drink too much coffee! And I'm only a little sorry. Ha ha ha. :-)

Aidan said...

I like ice cream. Not coffee though.

Laura Martone said...

I'm with Aidan. Ice cream is definitely one of my many vices. Along with tea, wine, imported beer, Cadbury mini-eggs (only available at Eastertime, so I have to eat lots of them, of course), horror movies, and bad sleep habits.

No smoking, though. Probably wouldn't be good for the asthma.

Laura Martone said...

And I should add that, like Aidan, I'm not a fan of coffee.

Like gasoline, coffee smells way better than it tastes.

Candy said...

I'm with you on the coffee.I do like it mixed with ice=cream but otherwise only the smell is good. As to vices... back in London, living with my boyfriend, I guess I had lots = drinking, pot and sex - but I didn't really like any of them. It was all just to be a part of something. Now, I can't think of any. Not enough money to overeat or buy stuff, nobody around to fight with. Too busy to do much except handle each day as it comes.

Olivia Harper said...

That's a good way for all of us to be, Candy. Take each day as it comes.

Of course, some vices can make the days more enjoyable!

Aidan said...

Um Candy...you don't like sex? Maybe we could fix that somehow.

And I wouldn't really call it a vice...

Jason said...

And there is a perfect example of your vice, Aidan.

Aidan said...

What?

Alicia J. Frey said...

I drink, cuss, and I really want that cupcake. Not any cupcake. THAT cupcake. :-)

Laura Martone said...

Oh, I'm in total agreement, Alicia. I want THAT cupcake, too. Can we split it? Pretty please?

P.S. I also love to curse - much to my mother's chagrin - but somehow, I don't consider it a vice. Can you tell I'm not a mom? ;-)

Nutmeg Cross said...

Actually, while we're on the subject of wanting things we shouldn't have, can I please have that puppy? He's so darn cute - devil horns and all.

Indigo Cypress said...

Yeah, Meg, dogs sure make great companions on the road.

And, as for vices, I guess you could consider my peace pipe one - but I believe Cherokee tradition trumps the idea of smoking as a vice.

Of course, that could just be a rationalization.

Aidan said...

I'll get Marc to make cupcakes. That sounds good.

Marc said...

Yawn. What's this about cake? Aidan just rolled me out of bed demanding I make it.

Have you even been to bed, mate? (There's another of his vices, not sleeping and waking me up early to feed him.)

Laura Martone said...

Hey, I didn't go to bed either. Course, I was doing boring stuff, like struggling to write my travel guide.

What were you up to, Aidan? Something way more interesting, I'll wager.

Aidan said...

Kaelin and I kind of snuck out, but don't tell Jason and Marc. They can't stand it when I do stuff like that. They're all, "It's too dangerous," and "But you're the Lord Seer!"

Like I don't know when the enemy is coming. I'm Seer, right? It gets really old.

So we drove around and went to a bar and met some girls--

here comes Marc. Shhhh!!

Daryl Harper said...

Cool. Sounds fun, Aidan. Wish I could've stepped out like that last night, but during Spring Break in southern Texas, Mom watches me like a hawk.

Aidan said...

Maybe she'd let us go out with you. You know, we could make sure nothing bad happens, like bodyguards. When Kae gets back from his mission we could come down...

Daryl Harper said...

You're on, Aidan! I'd love to hang out with you guys for a night - and hey, you might even get lucky with some of the cute co-eds that come down to South Padre for Spring Break. How do you feel about tipsy college-aged humans?

Aidan said...

I like them very much, Daryl, but I'm sure Jason would say getting lucky is not proper behavior for a Lord Seer, and I'll have to bring him along.

It'll be fun anyway, though, huh? And we love hanging out on the beach.

Calvin Mertz said...

I do it all; as often as I can. I'm a work hard, play hard, live it up kind of guy.

I do get ashamed of myself when I'm on a drug run. I should be able to do that in moderation; for the sake of my family anyways. But the lure of the danger, it's something I can't resist. Gambling, sex, drugs, making big money deals.

Ah, nostalgia . . .

How can anyone live without coffee? Or even consider it a vice? That's life's blood.
