What's Happening Now?

Well, folks, it's that time again – time for our midweek update – and while we've recently allowed everyone (author and character alike) the chance to reveal his/her/its current whereabouts, I thought it might be fun to return to our roots and keep this a characters-only discussion!

So, let's hear it, characters! What have you been up to lately? Seen any interesting places? Encountered any vengeful demons? Found yourself in a spot of trouble, supernatural or otherwise?

Feel free to spill the details about all of your latest adventures – and hopefully, by revealing where you are in your story, you'll help inspire your authors to keep moving forward with theirs.

Remember, this day is for characters only!

Well, I'm on the farm of my Great Aunt's first lover. It's in the most beautiful valley you've ever seen; green and peaceful, snugged in by mountains. I stood on that hill back there for minutes, looking out over paradise. That's what it seems to me anyway. and "He" owns the whole thing. And he 's so handsome and sweet too, according to her. And he loved her! I can't believe she just left like that! How stupid can a person be! I can't wait to meet him. I'm pretending to be a census taker. It's the only excuse I could think of and I only hope they have such things in Canada. So here goes...

Except for lamenting the ever-growing oil spill in our beloved gulf, Michael and I have no real news this week... except to say that our author has promised to begin revising our story next week. And, this time, she's considering writing the novel in first person. The only question is... whose POV will it be? Mine or my mother's?

Hmm... that's a tough one. We both have such interesting stories... if I do say so myself.

Oh, Candy, how exciting! Please let us know how the meeting goes...

Author has been working on the others and not me. :( I know what I look like, and that my game-character has exoskeleton armor and uses a bo staff, and that's about it. Oh, but I did find out that I am a junior in high school, but I'm taking some advanced classes. I guess that means Senior stuff. That's pretty cool.

Well, I've done a little better than PeaceKeeper. I already knew what I look like, but I think he did, too, really. I, at least, got some plot written up! *nods smugly* uh huh, that's right, I got plot.

Well, yeah, it's only a little bit of the middle part, but still. Turns out, I'm going to be the one that figures things out and tries to tell everyone. Except they don't really believe me. Here I am, telling them the truth, and no one listens. Story of my life, I swear. Oh wait, it is.

Except Paul. Paul, PeaceKeeper, believes me. Thanks, Paul.

Well, gee, Ryan, thanks for cluing~~ clueing~~ clue-ing (how do you spell that word?) me in! At least now I know something.

Boys, boys, stop being so ridiculous. I don't think any of us got much information. I'm a honey blonde in 9th grade and I know my birthday: March 24th. On top of that, at least Paul is an honors student; I'm a skatergirl that ditches school half the time! I hope my plot makes me a better person than I am so far!

My game-character is good so far, though. She can fly, and picked healing abilities, so looks like I get to help people. You'd think with my skatergirl background, I'd be more interested in kicking a little ass!

OK, you guys talk too much. I'm not sure I want to share what I know so far; it's my greatest fear. At least the plot hints that I'll overcome it.

Flutterby, that's cool that you know your birthday. Mine is Oct 8th; I'm 17. Sorry all you got was a hair color. I've got a goth thing going on, both in-game and out. I'm kind of a pessimistic loner, which fits well with the goth thing.

So you're a healer? *fanged grin* I get to be a vampire! Don't worry, I'm still a hero. We all know one of us ends up being a villain, but it's not me! I even get a love interest.

Nick (Virgil Ante) said...

Wicked, I knew it! I'm going to be the most powerful hero in the game! woohoo! Feels good to be 7 foot, 10 inches tall!

At least, in game. Real world, I'm just your average high school freshman, dark hair in my face and everything.

I found out a little more than that, but I don't have a full plot either, so ya'll quit whining. You sound like my little brother.

Sgt. Blaze said...

Heck, the rest of you know more than I do! I don't even have a real world character yet! All I got is my game-character. not a bad plotline going there, though: love, murder, revenge. It's got the makings of something interesting. Somebody let me know if he figures out who the real me is, though, ok?

Marcel Covey (Poison Layce) said...

I'm low on information, too, Blaze. I'm a new one in the group. I just know that I'm a guy gamer and my game-character is a female tank. She's a hottie, though!

Karen (Digital Angel) said...

Wow, am I the only one with a complete plot?? Let's see, my name's Karen; I'm a computer science major at NYU. Turns out I should have picked Mississippi State, even if it is in the deep south country. Things might have ended better that way.

Oh, hate to disappoint you, Ryan, but I figure out the game is real, too. more real than I'd like, to be honest.

Blaze, I'll see you in-game. *wink*

Malcolm Harris (Rainstorm) said...

It would be nice if even half of you could actually call yourselves real gamers. I've no idea why they let amateurs beta test games. I can't believe I'm the oldest in this group at 22.

I'm sure you want to know more about me, but I've got to get to work. There're two major games rolling tonight at the store, and I'm DMing for one of them. Later, kiddos.

Calvin Moon (Astalorn) said...

I'm without a plot, too, guys. Just another college student, like Karen. The real world me is Asian-American, 6'1", and 19 yrs old. (My birthday is Sept 14, girls! Only guy in the group with a birthday. Holla! *grin*)

The game-me is kind of Californian Surfer looking: blonde, wavy hair; blue eyes, etc.

I'm looking forward to having some fun and working with you guys, though.

(Blood Sprite) said...

Is he still here? Oh, good. He won't let me play if he knows. I have to be careful. And I have to warn them.

Nutmeg Cross said...

Well, color me intrigued by the new characters... Welcome, everyone!
