Let's have some feelings today! Not only that, but let's have some happy feelings! Usually when we talk about emotion in our stories, it's sadness, fear, anger; all the juicy difficult ones. But there are also things that make us happy. Maybe you had something nice happen to you. Maybe you have people in your life that you love and who love you back. Maybe you noticed how beautiful the day is, and that made you feel happy, even for a moment.
Or maybe, (this being CIC after all), you're happy because you finally reached your quota of innocent souls to consume. That's okay (in fact, congratulations). Here at CIC we're open to happiness of all sorts. We're just happy that you're happy.
So, let us know. What makes YOU happy?

Obviously, when humans follow me and reach their full potential.
I also enjoy a good rib-eye steak with a nice red wine.
"Well," said Pooh, "what I like best," and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do, there was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn't know what it was called."
~A.A. Milne
That kitty picture is adorable. Makes me happy.
Making my characters happy is what makes me happy.
A really poignant scene, well-crafted, with just the right balance between humor and emotion, gives me a thrill up and down my spine!
Lovely music and an afternoon in nature makes me happy.
Hearing a really great new song or finding a good band that hasn't been spoiled yet by success makes me happy. So does a good single-malt scotch. And having Kalila at my place, even if she's just in her lamp.
Uh...you really are in there, right, Kalila?
What do you think, Ricky?
I think I'm happier imagining you're in there, whether you are or not.
Humans are so cute the way the love their illusions.
I was happy - so I'm going to give this a try, then I'll have to go, cos, well... you know.
Saturdays in the park: looking to see what was moving in the bushes, and it wer'n't never the breeze.
Sundays making sure we could see the good folks at St Brendan's through the community centre window: thinking of fun ways to distract Joe O'Neill doing alter thingy. Hot weather or cold that boy had to go back to confession after mass was done cos he wer'n't thinking about God
Monday meeting for but not going to school but we did that too. Monday meet was special - I don't know why
Tuesday Tech - the potential for burning and heat in Mr Wilson's class: if it got hot he'd take off his tie - girl's gotta dream he'd forget when to stop
Wednesday - Mr Lamb for French 'nough said - poor maaan - that wern't really me, but hey it meant we had Thursday
Thursday - Mr Lamb's sub yeah supply teacher i-pod session
Friday - by the shops til the squeaky thingy worked on our ears and back to mine after for whatever was in the freezer
The Flower, Jack and Chels roadshow - disbanded 14th Jan for good
Mum would have told you about the Cat Shelter Volunteering, and the violin, and the housekeeping awards she made me, and the twin boys next door I sat for for free cos their Mum found them 'a bit of a handful' - that was the polite version that didn't match what I heard through the walls of my room but hey what did she know.
The enemy laying dead at my feet.
Marc and Jason make me happy. Jason can make me relax just by touching me. It's weird.
Walking in the rain makes me happy. And sitting in my great aunt's courtyard, by the carp pool, surrounded by roses and Pavorotti. Oh rats, that makes me cry!
I got to this party late. Ah, hell, Aidan.
Baking something makes me happy. I just made raspberry chocolate cookie bars and the smell in here is heavenly!
I got the recipe off of a Gold Medal Flour package, and was going to post the link, but it's not on their website. Strange.
WV: Lobsta - What mafia dons have for dinner.
The smell of fresh cut flowers, bright blue sky without a cloud in it, cheesecake, hearing a stream trickle down rocks on a warm afternoon, my son's smile when he says he loves me, and the feeling I'll have when I finish my book...All things that make me happy.
Yesterday I lay with my head resting on my sleeping unicorn's neck. I looked up through the trees, listened to the birds and suddenly I knew what true happiness was.
Lots of things make me happy, including mojitos, cool breezes, open-minded people, my kitty, my hubby's laugh, Willie Nelson's music, the world of my novel, and did I mention my kitty?
Hi
I don't know if I'm happy.
I like music.
Shadow
If you don't know, Shadow, then you aren't. But you will be.
I get happy when people give me random blogging awards. Just as happy when I nominate others for them. Like Mira and this blog. Check out my blog for more details.

Rain - especially when it falls on my face on a hot summer day. I was walking across the parking lot today when the heavens opened up and started to pour. I just looked up and smiled. Passers-by thought I was crazy. That made me even happier.
Rick - You're a sweetheart. Thank you. That totally made my day. If you're wondering, I'd nominate the Query Slushpile for every award I possibly could!
But I definitely need to include Ann - I started the blog, but Ann is an active leader, and she contributes to and defines the site as much as I do. I'm lucky to share the site with her, and I'm sharing the nomination with her too. :)
Thanks, Rick! :)
Oh, and that made ME happy. :)
And welcome J.J. Bennet and Steph. Happy to see you here. :)
Happiness? Ha, that's a mark of weakness.
At least in the human sense.
The closest thing to that human emotion is a sense of fulfillment as I watch some poor traveler, lost in a snowstorm, actually think he has a chance to escape me, Yuki-onna.
And watching as the light leaves their eyes as their blood slows and freezes in their veins...ah, now that is true enjoyment.
Cool.
Good on you, Yuki.
