What's Happening Now?

Given our “What's New?” chat on Monday, I hesitated to post such a similar prompt today, but it's actually been two weeks since our last “What's Happening Now?” discussion. Remember, last Wednesday, we chatted about our favorite foods instead! (Not that I'm complaining, of course.)

So, I guess that means it's time for our midweek update – a chance for characters to reveal their current, or at least most recent, whereabouts. In this way, authors can share what's happening within their stories by speaking through their characters' unique voices.

Well, let's hear it, guys, gals, and creatures! What have you been up to lately? Seen any interesting hot spots? Encountered any wicked monsters? Found yourself in a spot of trouble, supernatural or otherwise?

Feel free to spill any and all of your latest adventures, and hopefully, by revealing where you are in your story, you'll help inspire your authors to keep moving forward with theirs.

Remember, this is for characters only!

So far all's quiet on the Western Front. Now that we are actually the Western Front.

I think I'm going to sneak out tonight and visit the local priest. He's been trapped in his church since Sentinel invaded the town and took over. Maybe I can get him some food or something. And I have some questions for him.

You know, Aidan, tactically, it's not wise to announce your plans the morning before attempting them. Now see, young Padawan, I have the opportunity to stop you.

I guess I'll just have to drag you along then. Or get Kae to kill you. However it plays out, I guess.

Oh, do I have to talk about this? It's a little embarrassing.

OK, ok. So, I went to stop this carjacker, right? he was already getting in the car and the light was turning green, so I jumped for it. I got a grip on the back of the car, and I was hanging on it like this, see? So he starts driving down the road, high speed and all, and I'm yelling "stop the car!" and he's all like "no way. get off!" So, I break the back window and climb inside to make him stop, you know? But, I didn't know it was a convertible hard top. So, yeah, he pops the top and I go flying off the back of the car and into the pavement. You'd be surprised how much a video game can hurt when you're actually in it!

At least I met a cool guy to play with now. He's got this ice bow. Plang! And things freezze up. It's cool.

I jumped off a skyscraper, Misted at almost the street, and ...helped... stop a robbery. Beyond that, I'm not saying anything.

Aidan is too adorable when he's trying to be threatening.

C'mon Erin. Share. It's safe here. I'll sic Kae on anyone who crosses ya.

Gotta say, I'm getting sick of being called in to do your dirty work. Especially when you're capable of doing it yourself.

I think you meant to say:

Gotta say, I'm getting sick of being called in to do your dirty work, MY LORD.

I'm going to kick your ass, you know. Right when you least expect it.

Y'know I really like Steven. He's different from any of the guys I've met - like I'm different for him too, I guess. He kissed me last night, just real quick and light, when he handed me a bucket of milk to take up to the house. I'm scared though, that I'm going to hurt him like Great Aunt did his dad so long ago. I can see how hard it is to reject a sweet innocent like him. I'm beginning to understand why Great Aunt did what she did. Oh sh.. (can we say words like that on here?) I don't know if I can resist leading him on. Teaching him things...

Chelsey (Flutterby) said...

Candy, you like him so much, how could you possibly hurt him? I know they say ignorance is bliss, but what would you teach him that could be so bad?

Aidan said...

Kaelin is going to get jealous, Candy. But go for it.

I mean, the world already ended. How bad can you teaching him...uh, things...be?

Um, Aidan, what do you mean by "the world already ended"? I apparently didn't get the memo. Course, it's easy to miss the news down here on South Padre Island. I often feel cut off from the rest of the world. Especially when hurricanes knock out the electricity. Sigh.

I haven't been here in a very long time, but I thought this would give me a chance to tell what's happening (since my writer has been avoiding the current scene like a virtual plague).

The man I love (yes, I just admitted it), and who only hours ago confessed that he loved me (though I know it was difficult for him to say it and he may withdraw his admission once we're out of danger) is now being tortured by the awful creature who stole my granddaughter.

I'm not sure why he's being tortured since he did nothing to warrant this creature's wrath, and I'm not even in the same room with him, but I can feel everything he feels and hear his thoughts as he fights against giving into the pain being inflicted on him. I wish there were some way I could help him, but of course, proud warrior that he is, he would never ask for it.

Olivia, um, hate to break it to you, but the Apocalypse? Happened a year ago?

It's just like everybody says, too, bodies getting sucked out of graves, a bunch of the good live ones just gone, and then there's, well, the rest of us.

Being a demi-demon, sure, I wasn't going. But Father Tom? And Lisa, the cute bartender? (She's sad. Her kid went.) And the rest of us, all fighting for space.

Anyway, it kinda sucks. But I'm glad things are better than here down on Padre. Maybe someday I'll get there when things settle down and Sentinel gets control.
