Gone for the Holidays

As you've no doubt noticed, the Come In Character site has been rather quiet as of late. Well, after much soul-searching, I've decided that we all – authors and characters alike – could use a much-deserved break. Perhaps putting CIC aside for the holidays is just what we need to rejuvenate this once-treasured place.

So, while you can rest assured that the site isn't going anywhere anytime soon, don't expect any new posts until next year.

In the meantime, I hope you all have

a happy Thanksgiving,

a merry Christmas (or other appropriate winter holiday),

and a healthy, prosperous New Year!

Well, there won't be any new posts unless I decide to put something up. I'm still an admin. ;o)

I just want to say "Thank You" to all of the authors and characters who have made this such a special place. I have grown, and my characters have also, for the interaction we have experienced here.

I also want to thank Mira for starting the site, and Ann and especially Laura for their help in keeping it going.

Laura, you have single-handedly persevered after the rest of us went on to other things. You deserve a break, and I want you to know how much I appreciate your willingness to keep going, your cheerful optimism, and your friendship.

Have a very happy and blessed Thanksgiving, everyone!

Thanks, Christine - I really appreciate your support (and kind words). And I'm with you in thanking everyone else for making CIC such a special place! That's the reason I tried to keep it going for as long as I did.

Anyway, I hope you and yours had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Dan and I have been sick all week, so we had to skip being with the family today. Worst Thanksgiving ever. Boo-hiss.

P.S. By all means, feel free to post whenever you want. I should have made it clearer that, when I said "we'd" be gone for the holidays, I really meant me. I certainly don't want to keep you and Ann from posting if the mood strikes!

I know you didn't mean that, Laura. I am going through "Internet withdrawal" with this new job.

I'm so sorry you and Dan are sick. I really hope you feel better soon and can have some yummy leftovers with your family. Personally, I think turkey and stuffing are even better the next day.

And give Ruby a hug for me!

I know what you mean, Christine. With the craziness of my back-to-back travel guides, I've been going through blogging withdrawal, too.

Anyway, thanks for the well wishes. Hopefully, Dan and I will be better soon. But, no matter what, at least we got to spend the day together - so it can always be worse, right? Oh, and just so you know, I happily gave Ruby a hug for you, and surprisingly, she didn't bite me! Guess she was more Ruby in that moment than Azazel. Lucky me!

LOL! I'm just happy our beagle, Zeke, hasn't peed on the carpet the past few days. We went away and put him in the kennel for the first time last weekend and it was, um, interesting.

Ooh, yeah, Ruby doesn't go for that either. When she was a kitten, we had to leave her for five days at the vet (so that we could take a Christmas trip to see the family), and when we got back, she was literally hurling herself at the cage door, trying to get out. And, naturally, of all the kitties' cages, hers was the messiest. Sigh.

Anyway, congrats on the peeless carpet. Beagles may be cute, but they sure are messy. My first (and only) dog, Bogie, was a beagle, too - so I remember the mess factor well. :-)

Hi everyone, I just want to apologize to Ann. I was just looking at the posts in the recent list and realized she's still posting every couple of weeks.

My apologies, Ann, for saying you had gone on to other things. Thank you for your faithfulness to the blog, too!

You and the band have been awfully quiet lately. Which makes me think you're working on something else. Hmmmmm... I wonder what it is?

Laura Martone said...

Oh, now, I'M sorry, too. :-(

When I read your original comment, Christine, I didn't really "get" your implication that Ann wasn't around anymore. She was definitely still posting - just not as frequently - which is another reason I thought we all needed a break!

So, me, too, Ann. Me sorry, too.

I can not go on holidays because there are lots of bad things happening to me because theres is lots of things that have been folliwing me but when i turn around there is nothing there. And I cant leave my house because my maid said that it is better for me if I stayed home because the things that are following me will kill me if I leave my house so the only person wo can leave is my neighbor because she does some kind of spell so she is the only one that can leave because the demons can not see her leave the house.
