Well, I suspect it was a wave caused by a vortex manipulator.

A mermaid flipped her tail angrily. Her husband probably wouldn't tell her what was going on in the war with the demon sharks.
It's a water snake flipping its coils.
I did that. For fun. Just a flick of the wrist.
I don't care what caused it. I'm jumping in - what a beautiful day for a swim!
Actually it's my border collie's foam covered tail as he swims happily out to sea to play with his dolphin pals..
