Social Weekend: Desert Vacation

Forget floods and rain, we're taking a trip to the desert! Grab your camel for a trip to Egypt.

What secrets and mysteries do you want to discover?

Tombs? Pyramids? Ghosts of slaves and Pharoahs?  Perhaps a magical scarab or an ancient curse.

Maybe you are moved by the beauty and power of man's eternal struggle to survive and leave something behind.

Or are you content just exploring our giant luxury hotel, with its spa, elegant restaurant, swim-up bar, nightclub and belly-dancing entertainers?

Wow. This place is incredible. Wow. I am so ready for that pool. But, I think I'll just lie down for a little bit first.

I'm still pretty tired from that little battle this morning.

Wait a second, I'm confused. Are we in Egypt or Las Vegas?

Olivia Harper said...

Not that I'm complaining either way...

And, for the record, I'd love to spend the day riding a camel, photographing pyramids, and exploring tombs... then I'll happily join Ginger in the pool.

Egypt has modern hotels Olivia. This one happens to be the Intercontinental CityStars Cairo which has five different restaurants, a full-service health club with tennis courts, aerobics classes, hydro pool; a spa with twelve treatment rooms; an entertainment center with DVD and Playstation for the kids; an E-zone with bowling, billiards and video games; a day care facility for young children; and even an attached mall with shopping and a movie theatre.

Plus we're near all the major attractions: the Sphinx, the Great Pyramids, Sakkara and Giza.

I thought I'd spend a little of Aidan and Kaelin's money. They have way too much.

You certainly are good at spending money, Ginger. First an island and now this!

I'd never leave Ashlyn with anyone, but I love this suite. Just look at it. Like a palace. I want to go shopping, and eat in the restaurant and use the spa. And then go swimming.

Do you want to go shopping with Mommy, Ashlyn? I'll bet there are lots of shiny things to buy. Yes, I do.

Girls like shiny things, don't we?

See, she's smiling. She agrees with me.

I thought I'd had enough of deserts, but this is pretty nice. As long as no one gets killed.

If they do, we will stay calm and carry on. And mind our own business.

Well, Peter, I have mixed feelings about such an attitude. On the one hand, I understand how dangerous it can be to get involved with other people's problems, but on the other hand, it would be hard for me to ignore someone who's in danger. I guess if I ever feel threatened, I won't be able to count on you for help.

Suddenly, going to Egypt doesn't sound like such a good idea.

Indigo Cypress said...

Don't worry, Meg. I'll protect you - I always do.

Peter said...

I was just kidding, Nutmeg. Marianne doesn't get my humor, either.

Nutmeg Cross said...

Oh, sorry for misunderstanding you, Peter. It just seemed, well, kind of heartless. Especially since I tend to intervene when people seem to be in trouble - something that Indy constantly worries about. Even though he respects my desire to help others - and doesn't hesitate to help out either - I think he's concerned that, one of these days, I'm going to get in over my head. And, let's face it, he's probably right to worry.

Marianne said...

Nutmeg, on our last trip the death looked like an accident. There was nothing to do... The poor man was already dead and no way to prove his wife pushed him. Confronting her would have just made me the next target.

I know if we had any clue beforehand, he would have tried to stop it.

Hey, It's not our fault that Dad made good investments.

Knowing the future helps with that.

It is a lovely hotel and resort.

I know I'm supposed to want to run off and see the sights, but I wouldn't mind a day at the spa and laying by the pools.

Olivia Harper said...

I'm with you, Saxen. Even though I live on a beach - and take a swim almost every day - I've never had the chance to experience such pampering in a foreign land. So, count me in for a day at the spa!

Saxen said...

Raynor will never sit round while we do all that. So he and Nighfala can go out for a camel ride or something.

Raynor said...

They treat males in the spa too, don't they? It's not fair to let you have all the pampering.

Nighfala wants a massage as well, and her fur needs washing. Perhaps they will take her in the salon.

Nighfala...down! You cannot catch those fish in the aquarium. They are to look at, not to eat.

Nighfala said...

That makes no sense.

Saxen said...

Come Nighfala, we'll have them prepare you a dish.
